Man, 72, Convicted Of Trying To Smuggle 40K Phony Erectile Dysfunction Pills
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A federal jury in Los Angeles has convicted a former South Korean law enforcement officer for trying to smuggle nearly 40,000 phony erectile dysfunction pills into the U.S.
Kil Jun Lee, 72, was convicted of trafficking counterfeit goods and other counts Friday.
Authorities said Lee was returning home from South Korea last year when officers at Los Angeles International Airport found counterfeit Viagra, Cialis and Levitra pills concealed in his golf bag and luggage.
An analysis by a federal forensics lab showed that none of the pills matched the ingredients in the real thing.
Lee faces up to 90 years in prison when he returns to court July 29 for sentencing.
