BOYLE HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — A suspect who led authorities on a pursuit Monday night has taken two people hostage at an apartment complex in Boyle Heights.

East Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies chased the man to the building at the corner of Bridge Street and Fairview.

Deputies fired multiple shots at the suspect, but he was able to run inside the structure.

The man then kicked in a second-floor apartment door, where he held a man and a woman against their will.

The suspect reportedly shot at police through the home’s window, according to Sky2’s Stu Mundel.

No other information was immediately available.
