1 Killed, 4 Injured In North Hollywood Apartment Complex Fire

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A man was killed and four others were injured Monday after a fire broke out at a two-story apartment complex in the San Fernando Valley.

The blaze was reported around 10:14 a.m. at 5158 Riverton Avenue in North Hollywood, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

It took 53 firefighters 25 minutes to extinguish the flames.

Three people were treated on the scene for unspecified injuries.

Two others were transported to a local hospital.  One of those victims later died.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
