Van Nuys Brush Fire Prompts Closure Of Southbound 405 Freeway
VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — Dozens of Los Angeles City firefighters managed to put out a brush fire that ignited along the 405 Freeway and forced authorities to close all southbound lanes.
The fire scorched approximately four acres of grass in an area north of Victory Boulevard at Haskell Avenue, Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott reported.
Firefighters used a water-dropping helicopter to help extinguish the blaze, Scott said.
The Roscoe Boulevard on-ramp to the southbound 405 was also closed for a period of time.
