1 Dead, 1 Injured In Industrial Accident In Simi Valley

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — One person was killed and another injured Wednesday in an industrial accident in Simi Valley.

Ventura County fire officials were called to the 240 block of West Los Angeles Avenue just after 4 p.m. after a large piece of steel, which was being used to build a concrete structure, fell off of a truck near two workers.

One worker was able to get out of the way, but was still injured and taken to the hospital.

The other person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
