Suspect Sought In Robbery At Torrance Baskin-Robbins

TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — Police Thursday sought the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted for a robbery at a ice cream shop in Torrance.

On Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at 8:23 p.m., a suspect entered a Baskin-Robbins store at 3614 Pacific Coast Highway and robbed the 19-year-old lone, female employee, according to Torrance Police.

The suspect ordered ice cream, but when the employee placed the man's order on the counter and prepared to enter information into the cash register, he grabbed her by the left forearm. He then walked through the swinging gate and behind the register while twisting her left arm behind her body, opened his switchblade knife and pressed it against her back, police said.

The suspect then demanded money from the cash register. When the victim opened the register, the suspect reached in and removed all of the paper currency and some of the change.

The suspect then released the victim and fled the location out the door westbound through the parking lot.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact the Torrance Police Department at (310)328-3456.
