Hire-A-Youth Summer Internship, Employment Program Kicks Off In Long Beach
LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Summer is a few months away, but students know when it comes to finding a summer job the time to start looking is now.
The Pacific Gateway Workforce Investment Network -- along with participating businesses -- are looking to place 500 students in temporary work situations in Long Beach. The annual Hire-A-Youth Summer Internship and Employment program kicked off Thursday.
The program is also looking for more businesses that could use a little extra help.
Thursday's program was announced at Delightful Crepes where the business' owners say they get a large part of their staff from Pacific Gateway's Workforce Investment Network.
