OC Superior Court Judge Probed For Sexual Misconduct

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) —An Orange County Superior Court judge is under investigation in connection to allegations of sexual misconduct.

Authorities have been conducting interviews and gathering evidence against Judge Scott Steiner for about a month, according to spokesman Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Steiner's chambers at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana was searched, said Amormino.

The former prosecutor, who was elected to be a judge in 2010, has been transferred to the North Justice Center in Fullerton amid the probe.

Details weren't provided on the case, but sheriff's investigators will give their findings to the state Attorney General's Office next week.

Paul S. Meyer, Steiner's attorney, said he believes his client will be cleared of any kind of sexual impropriety.

"We look forward to working with the inquiry to resolve any questions," Meyer said. "We believe the truth will clear this matter."
