THOUSAND OAKS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a gunman who robbed a Ventura County Smart & Final store.
The store, located at 2222 Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks, was robbed Tuesday around 8:40 p.m., the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said.
“The suspect approached the cashier clerk, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the cash register,” Det. Mike Ferguson.
The clerk surrendered an unknown amount of cash to the suspect who then fled from the scene in a 1990’s white sedan.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 35 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 275 pounds.
“He was wearing a white or light colored baseball cap, a light colored long sleeve button down shirt, baggy blue jeans, and white tennis shoes,” Det. Ferguson said.
Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect should call Det. Ferguson at (805) 494-8222.
