LAGUNA NIGUEL (CBSLA.com) — An Orange County Sheriff’s deputy cruiser crashed Wednesday into a motorist during a pursuit through streets of Orange County.

The pursuit started around 11:50 a.m. when officials attempted to make contact with a non-compliant parolee in a white Toyota 4Runner near the intersection of Lake Center and Boeing Lane in Lake Forest.

During the chase, the cruiser was involved in an accident with a civilian vehicle near Alicia Parkway and Interstate 5 Freeway in Laguna Niguel. The deputy involved in the accident was transported to Mission Hospital with moderate injuries.

The condition of the civilian was unknown.

The pursuit came to end approximately three miles away around 12:30 p.m. near Kensington Drive and Niguel Road where the suspect was taken into custody.
