LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Actress Lindsay Lohan Monday agreed to a plea deal in order to avoid a trial in her misdemeanor lying case.

Lohan is accused of lying to police officers on June 8, 2012, saying she was not behind the wheel of her Porsche and that her assistant was driving when the vehicle slammed into the back of a dump truck on PCH.

At the time of the crash, which took place as Lohan was headed to the set of “Liz and Dick”, she was already on probation for taking a diamond necklace from a Venice jewelry store.

During a nearly two-hour meeting in Judge James Danby’s chambers on Monday, the actress pleaded no contest to reckless driving, lying to police and obstructing officers. She agreed to serve 90 days in a locked rehab facility, perform 30 days of community service, and undergo 18 months of psychotherapy sessions. She was also ordered to pay an unspecified fine and complete a two-year probation.

Lohan’s attorney must show proof of her enrollment in a residential treatment facility by May 2.

Lohan appeared at the LAX courthouse at 9:18 a.m. for her 8:30 a.m. courtroom session. As she walked in, a spectator threw glitter at her.

It had been unclear whether the actress would actually make it to Los Angeles for the appearance after she missed two commercial flights out of New York over the weekend.

However, the actress tweeted around 4 a.m. Monday that she would be in the Southland:

On March 1, Dabney ordered the 26-year-old to appear in court alongside her New York-based attorney Mark Heller.

The fate of Lohan’s defense has remained in question since her last court appearance. Judge Dabney has questioned Heller about his competency in practicing California criminal law where he is not licensed.

Lohan’s father, Michael, has reportedly hired Orange County criminal defense attorney David Wohl to help defend his estranged daughter.

As Lohan’s defense attorney Mark Heller addressed the media, Michael Lohan interrupted him repeatedly and chased after him as he shouted accusations.

“Heller, go back to New York. Stay away from my family, you’re a criminal,” Michael Lohan said. He also exchanged heated words with Heller’s co-counsel, Anthony Falangetti.

“These are my kids, its my daughter,” Michael Lohan later said to KCAL9′s Joy Benedict. “They use her to get a name for themselves and don’t you think that’s part of the big problem in her life?”
