SAN MARINO (CBSLA.com) — A suspected armed robber was arrested on the campus of San Marino High School Sunday following an overnight officer-involved shooting.
The incident unfolded about 11:20 p.m. Saturday in nearby Alhambra after a 7-Eleven store on Garfield Avenue was robbed.
Alhambra police Sgt. Jerry Johnson said police tracked the suspect down near the intersection of Winston Avenue and Huntington Drive in San Marino.
“As the officers approached, the suspect told the officers that he was armed and he would shoot,” he said. “An officer-involved shooting then occurred.”
Alhambra police say a foot pursuit ensued and the suspect ran onto the high school’s campus. He was apprehended about 6:35 a.m.
