LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — County officials have signed off on a plan to offer naming rights to some portions of the Hollywood Bowl.
Los Angeles County Supervisors approved the proposal Tuesday to allow the Los Angeles Philharmonic to name the box office plaza, main stage, conductor’s suit, a proposed wine bar and other areas for major donors.
The naming rights would not apply to the iconic Hollywood Bowl shell or amphitheater, and the name of the venue would remain unchanged.
As many as 100 possible donors could be secured.
Any funds raised will go to “provide an important new contributed revenue source to ensure that the Bowl retains and expands its position as a major year-round cultural and educational resource, at a time of heightened competitive challenges,” according to the resolution.
