LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A memorial service for Dr. Jerry Buss will be held Thursday at the Nokia Theater at L.A. Live.
The 3 p.m. service will be for invited guests only, but will be carried live on KCAL9 News and CBSLA.com.
Dr. Buss, who is known as one of the most successful owners in all of sports, died Monday of kidney failure after battling cancer for 18 months. He was 80 years old.
The Lakers this week wore a patch of ‘JB’ on the right side of their jerseys to honor their owner, who bought the team in 1979.
The team also honored Buss before their game against the Boston Celtics Wednesday night.
