OCOTILLO WELLS (CBSLA.com) — A minor quake that shook eastern San Diego County was felt as far away as Riverside.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude-3.4 temblor struck about 9:04 a.m. Sunday.
The quake hit about 17 miles south-southeast of Borrego Springs and 27 miles east of San Diego Estates.
Cheryl Gillott, an employee at the Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area Discovery Center, described the quake to City News Service as having a rolling motion.
“We feel them out here all the time, but not like this one,” said Gillott. “It was pretty big.”
Residents in eastern San Diego County also reported feeling the quake as well as those in Riverside.
