LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities have identified a man whose body was found in a trash container in the East Hollywood area Wednesday.

Investigators responded at around 8:30 a.m. to an apartment building at Santa Monica Boulevard and Mariposa Avenue, Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The building manager discovered the body and notified authorities.

The L.A. County Coroner’s Office identified the man Thursday as 33-year-old Richard Michael Ramirez. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed.

Authorities have questioned a man about the death. The investigation is ongoing.
