Fund Set Up To Assist Family Of Slain Riverside Officer

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A fund was set up Friday to help the family of a Riverside Police officer allegedly killed by fugitive ex-LAPD cop Christopher Dorner.

Police say two officers were ambushed Thursday morning by Dorner, who was named the night before as a suspect in the murders of an Irvine couple, while waiting at a red light at the intersection of Arlington and Magnolia.

KNX 1070's Claudia Peschiutta reports that the fund was set up in response to the community's outpouring of support.

"He's in ICU and stable condition," Toussaint said

The officers' names have not been released for security reasons.

To donate to the family of the slain officer, a check, made out to the Riverside Police Officers Association Assistance Fund, can be sent to 1965 Chicago Ave, Suite B, Riverside CA 92507.
