AZUSA (CBSLA.com) — Hikers found a partially decomposed body in a San Gabriel Canyon riverbed Wednesday.

The body looked to be there for an “extended period of time,” according to Sgt. Andy Sutcliffe of the Azusa Police Department.

Authorities couldn’t determine the race or gender of the victim.

The investigation is ongoing.
