Health Expert Offers Custom-Tailored, Personalized Weight Loss Plans

WOODLAND HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A Woodland Hills clinical nutritionist offers custom-tailored, personalized weight loss plans that cater to a woman's body and lifestyle.

Monika Klein told CBS2's Amanda Burden that she created the Skinny Jeans Club for anyone who needs help dropping those stubborn pounds.

"Every woman totally understands the concept of skinny jeans… they're those jeans you used to wear or they're the piece of clothing that you felt really good in during your thinnest," she said.

Once a month, Klein holds a free coaching session online or over the phone for women of all ages who need dietary guidance.

Some of Klein's clients, however, choose to take part in a more hands-on "concierge" approach to losing weight.

For a fee, the health expert will evaluate a woman's eating habits, hormones, vitamin intake, and daily stress that may cause emotional eating.

"I want to know their medical history, I want to know what kind of diets they've done before, their exercise background, what their highest weight was, what their lowest weight was, and how they eat," said Klein.

The nutritionist said many popular diet and exercise programs aren't for everybody, so it's important to find the right plan.

Tanya Esacov of Oak Park said it was easy for her to stay slim until she reached her 60s.

"The weight just started adding up. A pound here, five pounds there," she said. "I just thought…okay, I'll count calories and it will come off, but it didn't."

Esacov said she was frustrated until she started to visit Klein once a week for coaching, motivation and support.

"She helped me see what I was eating and the consequences," Esacov said.

Klein identified a gluten and dairy sensitivity that caused Esacov's extra pounds.

"I just want to be in the best health I can be... and I feel I am," said Esacov.
