Former OC College Official Sentenced 15 Years To Life For Killing, Dismembering Wife

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A former Orange County college administrator was sentenced Friday to 15 years to life in prison for the second-degree murder of his ailing wife he bludgeoned to death.

Richard Gustav Forsberg, 64, was convicted Dec. 10 in the death of 60-year-old Marcia Ann.

Forsberg bludgeoned his spouse with a one-pound goddess statue on Feb. 9 in their Rancho Santa Margarita home on the 42nd anniversary of their first date.

Prosecutors said Forsberg stored the body in a freezer, then dismembered it and burned it at a campground.

The couple had a long-troubled marriage after Marcia battled breast cancer and suffered from fibromyalgia, Deputy District Attorney Ebrahim Baytieh said.

The defendant told investigators they had not had sexual relations for close to 11 years before Marcia's death, according to the prosecutor.

Forsberg was an administrator at Coast Community College District in Costa Mesa.
