3 Dead In Possible Murder-Suicide In Oxnard

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Three people are dead in what witnesses are telling authorities is a possible murder-suicide in Oxnard.

CBS2/KCAL9's Serene Branson, reported from one of two crimes scenes.

At about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, police in Oxnard received a shots fired call in the area of Hull Place and M Street. They discovered the bodies of two women -- one in her 20s and the other in her 40s. One woman was found inside the home, one just outside the home.

About 30 minutes later, police received a call of a shots fired in the 200 block of Marquita, about 3-4 miles from the original crime scene. They found a male deceased at the location in his backyard.

Witnesses told police the three victims were related.

Police are questioning family members.

Homicide detective Luis McArthur said "We are looking at the relationship between the victims and the gunman. We believe both incidents are related to one other."

Officials have not yet defined the relationship between the alleged gunman and the victims but told Branson the public did not have to worry about an at-large suspect.
