HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters were called in to free a pedestrian who was trapped beneath a Metro Red Line subway train in Hollywood on Friday.
The 40-year-old female victim was trapped by a train in the 5400 block of West Hollywood Boulevard shortly before 8:00 a.m., according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The victim was reportedly conscious when firefighters arrived, Humphrey said.
“It’s not clear how the woman ended up beneath the train,” said Humphrey.
She was removed from the tracks at around 8:36 a.m. and transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Metro and Los Angeles County Sheriff investigators were on scene.
