Moreno Valley Police Nab Suspect For Alleged Sexual Assault, Kidnapping

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Police in Moreno Valley have arrested a suspect for an alleged sexual assault that occurred Thursday about 9 p.m.

The alleged assault took place in the 24900 Block of Hemlock Avenue in Moreno Valley.

During the course of their investigation, officers identified Riverside resident Randy Sanchez, 40, as their suspect.

Officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department got a tip that Sanchez was possibly in the Casa Blanca area of Riverside.

A Moreno Valley Police Special Enforcement team staked out the 7400 block of Ysmael Villegas.  Sanchez was observed entering a parked vehicle.

He was taken into custody without incident.

Officials said they also recovered a loaded 9mm semi-automatic inside the car.

Sanchez is accused of forcible rape, false imprisonment and kidnapping.

Authorities also arrested two other men along with Sanchez.  Paul Zamora Jr. of Riverside was booked for possession of a loaded firearm inside a vehicle and violation of his post-release community supervision. Edward Sosa of Riverside was arrested for possession of a loaded firearm inside a vehicle, violation of parole and possession of methamphetamine.

Authorities said all three suspects have ties to a local Riverside street gang and were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
