COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy responding to a call struck another patrol unit at an intersection in Compton.

Deputy Irys Alvarez of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau says the accident at Rosecrans and Dwight avenues occurred late Saturday.

Both patrol units were occupied with two deputies at the time. Only one driver, however, sought medical attention.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
