Husband Arrested In Nurse's Death After Body Found At Hawaiian Gardens Casino

WEST COVINA (CBSLA.com) — Police arrested Monday the husband of a nurse whose body was found in the back of a SUV over the weekend.

Tomas Rodriguez Infante, 60, was arrested by West Covina police at 12:55 a.m. for the death of his wife, Charito Tolentino, Los Angeles County Sheriff's detectives said.

"It appears from the evidence that the suspect killed the victim at the location and then transported her body in a car, which he parked and abandoned in the parking lot of the Hawaiian Gardens Casino," Lt. John Corina said.

Infante reported his wife missing on Saturday.

Tolentino's family searched for her and located her SUV Sunday.

She was found around 9:20 a.m. Sunday in the back of her SUV.

"When we checked the car, that's when we found the body," Lt. Corina said.

Detectives say they have security video of Infante dropping off the car at the casino.

Coroner's officials say Tolentino died from what appeared to be blunt force trauma.

"We're trying to determine if they were having some sort of marital problems or some kind of financial problems or what his motive was for killing his wife," Corina said.

Several neighbors told CBS2/KCAL9's Joy Benedict that they never heard the couple fighting. One man said they seemed like "a happy, loving couple."

Infante is being held on $1 million bond.
