LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Lincoln, the former president, is having something of a popularity surge — likely because of “Lincoln” the movie.

Welcome to “The History Don: With Malice Toward None — Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War.”
Dr. Don Schwartz, professor emeritus at CSULB, is offering a six-part lecture series (beginning January 10, 10:30 a.m. to noon) that will examine the causes of the civil war, Lincoln as a martyr, his views on slavery and the historical accuracy of the Steven Spielberg film, among other topics.
The lectures, open to the public, will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church, 6500 Stearns Street, Long Beach CA 90815.
