DANA POINT (CBSLA.com) — They might run out of tartar sauce in Dana Point.
The jumbo squid are back!
And in a big way. Literally.
The sometimes 12-pound, 2-3 feet long squid are hopping.
Captain Jack Van Dyke told CBS2 and KCAL9 that on his boat alone 790 squid were caught in about 45 minutes. Yes, 790.
Their last appearance in the area was September 2011.
Dana Wharf Sportsfishing takes boats out nightly (around 5:30 p.m.)
Cost is $25.
