ALHAMBRA (CBSLA.com) — A Southern California student who disappeared in Hilo, Hawaii, has been found dead.
Officials found the body of 31-year-old Yogi Yoswara off the island’s coast Tuesday.
Yoswara’s body was found in the same area where he was last believed to have been seen.
Police said they didn’t believe foul play was involved.
Authorities and relatives had been looking for Yoswara since Dec. 21, when he didn’t show up for a hiking trip with friends and then missed his flight from Hawaii to Maui.
The Alhambra resident was a student at the Southern California Institute of Architecture.
Friends say Yoswara had gone traveling alone before and that he loved to hike. He came to Hawaii for his winter break.
