LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities in Long Beach report an officer-involved shooting Sunday night.
Responding to an armed robbery call, police pursued a suspect who remains at large.
It is not known if police wounded the suspect who was wanted for the armed robbery of a pizza delivery man.
The armed robbery was called in just after 7:50 p.m. said, Sgt. Aaron Eaton of the Long Beach Police Department.
The robbery occurred near the 1800 block of Anaheim Street. The handgun-wielding suspect fled the scene on foot, according to Eaton.
“During the pursuit an officer-involved shooting occurred,” said Eaton.
The Long Beach SWAT team was on the scene continuing the search, he said.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
