SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A Ventura County criminal defense attorney taken into custody at the Seal Beach Pier for allegedly trying to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex may have contacted other potential victims, officials said Monday.

KNX 1070′s Bob Brill reports the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force arrested 36-year-old Arturo Gutierrez III when he arrived at the pier around noon Saturday.

In October, the underage victim’s parents saw “sexual” conversations between their daughter and Gutierrez on Facebook and immediately contacted authorities.

Investigators said officers, who posed as the young girl, began communicating with Gutierrez via Facebook in November.

They said the suspect arranged to meet “the girl” for “sexual purposes” at the pier.

Officials said Gutierrez may be involved with other underage victims based on information that was gathered at the suspect’s Oak View home.

Gutierrez is free on $50,000 bail.

KCAL9 attempted to contact Gutierrez, but someone who answered the phone at his law office said they had no comment.
