Galaxy To Conduct Fan Celebration Monday For Championship Win

CARSON (CBSLA.com) — Want a picture of yourself standing next to the Galaxy’s Major League Soccer championship trophy?

You’ll get that chance Monday evening when the entire team (yes, including David Beckham) turns out for a celebration of their second championship in a row.

The celebration is being held from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the Home Depot Center’s tennis stadium. (Home Depot Center, 18400 Avalon Boulevard, Carson CA 90746.)

Admission and parking are free. Gates will open at 6 p.m.

Fans donating $5 to the LA Galaxy Foundation will receive a patch of grass from the field at the Home Depot Center where the Galaxy defeated the Houston Dynamo, 3-1, Saturday.

Galaxy championship apparel will also be sold at a 23 percent discount. Beckham, who played his final competitive game with the Galaxy Saturday, wore number 23.
