LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A Long Beach church suffered extensive damage Wednesday night after a car slammed into the unoccupied building.
The accident was reported around 11:40 p.m. after a sedan crashed into the Church of Christ at 5909 Linden Ave., the Long Beach Fire Department said.
The city red-tagged a portion of the one-story building.
The driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Officials are investigating whether intoxication or rainy weather played a role in the crash.
