LOS ANGELES ( — Authorities say a man working on his car is in grave condition after the vehicle collapsed on top of him.

The accident was reported just before 2 p.m. outside 1829 W. 25th Street, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The man was reportedly working underneath his sedan in the West Adams area.

The car was not being supported by a jack at the time of the accident.

It is unknown how long the man was trapped before help could arrive.
