ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — ABC has purchased a television script based off the Western-style Disney ride “Big Thunder Mountain Railroad”.

The Disney-owned network bought the script from Fast and the Furious’ Chris Morgan and Ice Age: Continental Drift’s Jason Fuchs.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad opened in Sept. 1979.

“Pirates of the Caribbean” was another Disney ride adapted by Hollywood starting in 2003.

The four-film franchise has grossed $3.72 billion worldwide, and a fifth film is expected in the next few years.
