Endeavour's New Exhibit Opens To The Public

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The space shuttle Endeavour's new exhibit opened to the public Tuesday at the California Science Center.

Visitors will first take part in Endeavour: The California Story, a tour which tells the story of California's aerospace industry and shuttle program through videos, photographs and artifacts including the shuttle's toilet, kitchen and a set of tires.

They will then enter an 18,000-square-foot pavilion where the orbiter will be on display.

This exhibit will be Endeavour's home until 2017 when the new air and space wing is expected to be completed.

Opening ceremonies began at 10 a.m. with a dance performance.

Due to the high volume of visitors the Science Center is expecting, viewers are encouraged to make reservations on its website or by phone, 323-SCIENCE.
