PASADENA (CBS) — Vanessa Natalie Manjarrez of Pasadena was chosen as the 95th Rose Queen Tuesday morning.
Manjarrez, 17, is a senior at Mayfield Senior High School.
She plans to study science and business in college and is interested in stem cell research and genetics.
Manjarrez is one of seven young women that will serve on the royal court reigning over the 2013 Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game.
The court will preside over about 150 events leading up to the annual festivities.
