Endeavour-geddon? Motorists Caught In Huge Traffic Back-Up On The 405
WEST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) —The Endeavour is on the ground moving about 2 mph.
Some drivers on the 405 Friday evening would have been happy to have gone even that fast.
CBS2 and KCAL9 reporter Bobby Kaple spoke to frustrated drivers who gave him an earful about traffic tie-ups around the Southland.
He said, "Drivers trying to get around Los Angeles were in for rude awakening."
Horror stories abounded. Said one driver, "This is ridiculous! It's taking way too long to get around."
Mario Johnson, another motorist, said "No matter where I have been today it's been horrible. Horrible!"
Some motorists talked about spending two hours in the car just go to from the valley to the Westside.
Canadian Robert Assaf said, "I've never seen traffic this bad."
Endeavour was expected to cross the Manchester Bridge overpass around midnight Friday.
Officials, looking to keep traffic on the 405 Freeway moving freely, said they would cite any drivers who stopped their vehicles to watch the shuttle.
