LOS ANGELES (AP) — Dave Hansen is out as hitting coach of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who have offered him another position within the organization.
The team said Friday that Hansen has not yet decided whether to accept the offer. No replacement has been named.
Pitching coach Rick Honeycutt, third base coach Tim Wallach, first base coach Davey Lopes, bench coach Trey Hillman and bullpen coach Ken Howell will return in 2013. Wallach is being interviewed for the vacant Boston Red Sox managerial job.
Hansen played 11 seasons for the Dodgers in two different stints. He took over last summer for Jeff Pentland. The Dodgers offense was 13th in runs scored and in RBIs.
