WILDOMAR (CBS) — Authorities say a 17-year-old boy who has autism walked away from his Wildomar home Wednesday afternoon and hasn’t been seen since.
David Soto left a note that said he was going “treasure hunting.”
Soto was last seen near his residence around 4 p.m. in the 35300 block of Chloe Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The teenager, who reportedly has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old, headed off in an unknown direction, according to sheriff’s spokesman Angel Ramos.
David was wearing a pirate costume, with a yellow-and-purple Lakers shirt with matching shoes, according to Ramos.
The youth is about 6 feet tall, 140 pounds, with brown hair and eyes and a light mustache.
Anyone with information was urged to call the sheriff’s Lake Elsinore station at (951) 245-3300.
