TOPANGA (CBSLA.com) — A kayaker reported missing off Topanga State Beach was found safe Tuesday night.

Authorities received a call at 8:49 p.m. reporting the man, an off-duty LAPD officer, missing in an area near Topanga Canyon Road and Pacific Coast Highway, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., the man was spotted “out in the sea” and was “alive and doing well”, police reported.
