ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A woman is in critical condition Monday night after her car was hit by a truck near a gas station in Anaheim.
The collision happened around 7:35 p.m. on East Riverdale and Tustin avenues.
Police said a woman in her late 40’s was driving a hatchback out of her apartment complex across the street from a Chevron when she made a left turn in front of a truck that was headed northbound.
The male driver crashed into her, which sent her car into the gas station.
The truck collided head-on into the building’s market.
Although the woman is unresponsive in intensive care at a hospital, the truck driver was not seriously injured.
The impact of the truck, however, knocked off parts of the wall, shifted the framing, and sent computers and products flying at the Chevron.
The owner of the building said she was sitting at her desk before the crash.
“Twenty minutes ago, I was here,” said Zohreh Gadali. “I would have been killed if I was here.”
The investigation into the accident is on-going.
