LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police have taken a man into custody in Van Nuys following a high speed pursuit and foot chase early Monday morning.

The pursuit started in the San Fernando Valley around 4 a.m.

The driver of a stolen white Jaguar took police on the recently opened 405 freeway as well as on the 101 and 170 freeways.

The car chase ended around 5 a.m. when the driver pulled over on the 405 in Van Nuys and hopped out and took off on foot.

K-9 units arrived to help search for the suspect who had barricaded himself in a tunnel.

The passenger was taken into custody just after 6 a.m.
