CALABASAS (CBSLA.com) — More than 500 kids at Lupin Elementary School participated in “JAM World Record 2012″ Thursday morning.

The students were joined by parents, local firemen and Olympic athlete Samantha Clayton to participate in the event, which stands for “just a minute”, to encourage people of all ages around the globe to be active.

This is the first year JAM is a nation-wide event.

Lupin Hill Elementary started the campaign five years ago in order to show students how easy it is to improve their lives with a little physical activity.

JAM has over 1.2 million people of all ages signed up to commit to being physically active, even if it’s just for a minute.
