SAN PEDRO (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles police and the City Council are offering a $75,000 reward for information leading to arrests of the suspects responsible for the murder of a teenage couple.

Meldrick A. Melgoza and Carolina Ramirez, both 16, were fatally shot around 7 p.m. in the 500 block of Bay View Avenue in Wilmington on Feb. 26, police said.

Melgoza was reportedly shot first.

Ramirez, who tried to hide underneath a parked car, was found later found by officers with gunshot wounds to the chest and leg.

Both victims were pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
