Multimedia presentation by Gregorio Luke on David Alfaro Siqueiros, to celebrate the conservation of his mural America Tropical. Siqueiros’ murals will be projected at life size and his career and artistic innovations will be discussed in detail as well as his participation in the Mexican Revolution and Spanish Civil War.
Special appearance by News Emmy winner and Los Angeles native Rick Garcia from CBS2/KCAL 9. Rick Garcia has received the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s Excellence in Broadcast Journalism award.
This presentation is part of a series of public events to celebrate the conservation of the mural America Tropical by David Alfaro Siqueiros and the opening of the America Tropical Interpretative Center Organized by the Getty Conservation Institute in participation with the City of Los Angeles and Amigos de Siqueiros.
This event, in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, is being presented by Amigos de Siqueiros with the generous support of Wells Fargo Bank, the Weingart Foundation, the City of Los Angeles, CBS2/KCAL9 and the Getty Conservation Institute.
