MENIFEE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 17-year-old pedestrian suffered fatal injuries following a collision in Menifee.
Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. Sergio Rodriguez reported in a department statement that the fatal crash took place in the area of Domenigoni Parkway and Laguna Vista Drive about 11:10 p.m. Friday.
The statement said the victim, identified by the coroner’s office as Steven Nunez of Corona, was struck by a sedan while walking east on the westbound side of Domenigoni Parkway.
According to authorities, the driver attempted to avoid the pedestrian with evasive maneuvers but was unable to.
Nunez was taken to Menifee Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Further details on the crash were not immediately available. The name of the driver has not been released.
