EL SEGUNDO (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles, it’s time to look up.
The Space Shuttle Endeavour is headed for its permanent home at the California Science Center in Exposition Park on Friday, but not before conducting a low-level flyover of various landmarks across Southern California.
El Segundo Police are cordoning off the 300 to 600 blocks of East Imperial Avenue (PDF) as public viewing space to watch Endeavour and NASA’s 747 shuttle carrier craft land on the south runway at LAX.
Below is an approximate schedule for Endeavour as it prepares to land at LAX:
Endeavour begins flyovers of several Southland locations:
Proud Bird Restaurant (LAX)
Boeing Plant (Seal Beach)
California Science Center (Exposition Park)
Downtown Los Angeles
Santa Monica Pier (Lucky fans will see the flyover from the Ferris wheel)
Space X (Hawthorne)
Queen Mary and Aquarium
