LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division is promoting public awareness of the proper use of child safety seats.

According to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration study, three out of four children are not as secure as they should be because safety seats aren’t being used correctly.

The LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division is holding a child safety seat enforcement/education event from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Valley Plaza Sports Complex.

Trained technicians are conducting free seat inspections.
