VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — Van Nuys Airport was awarded an $18.4 million grant for reconstruction, officials announced Friday.
The Federal Aviation Administration grant will pay to reconstruct and repave the entire 8,000-foot-long primary runway.
Officials say the project is expected to take nine months to complete. Construction is scheduled to start early next year.
