INDIO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a driver was arrested at a checkpoint in Indio on Friday after U.S. Border Patrol agents seized about 23 pounds of methamphetamine.

Border Patrol spokeswoman Cindy Moreno says five packages of meth were found inside a gas tank of a Ford F-150 with an estimated street value of $732,800.

The driver of the truck, identified only as a U.S. citizen, was taken into custody.
